Sonic the Hedgehog

As the first video game I owned, I wanted to pay homage to one of the characters that inspired me to become an artist: Sonic the Hedgehog. The character was sculpted, retopped, and rigged in Blender. Normals and textures created in Substance Painter. Beauty renders done in Unreal Engine.

High poly model. Individual parts are modeled in Blender's edit mode.

After some adjustments for the joints, the final result is 29,756 tris.

Final textures. Normals are baked from the high poly sculpt to the retopped model. Additional details such as mouth, quills, and shoe patterns are added in Substance Painter. The model is then rigged for posing.
