Game Jam Dwarf

I worked with a team during Global Game Jam 2024 to create a multiplayer game: Dodge Brick. I was put in charge of bringing Daniel Chung's concepts to 3d by modelling, texturing, and animating the characters. Facial expressions by Zoey Wiser were overlayed in-engine on the characters to coincide with different animations.

The first 24 hours were spent on developing ideas for characters and creating designs. I used the concepts to model a placeholder base mesh in Blender. Then updated it with finalized accessories. Texturing was done in Substance Painter.

For a 4-player game, I created palette-swapped textures for the dwarf model.

In the last 24 hours, I learned how to rig and animate in Blender for the first time. I found the NLA system useful in creating multiple FBX animations that would be exported to Unreal.
